Position: Factory Manager

Location: Kudal, Sindhudurg

Employment Type: Full-Time

Experience: 5–12 Years in Printing/Packaging / Paper Converting / Manufacturing Operations

Reporting To: Director – Operations

Role Overview

The Factory Manager will be responsible for end-to-end factory operations including production planning, process setup, quality control, maintenance, safety, statutory compliances, manpower management, and ensuring optimal cost efficiency. The role requires robust leadership in establishing systems and maintaining smooth day-to-day production flow.

Key Responsibilities

- Factory Setup & Infrastructure

Oversee installation, commissioning and layout planning of machinery and utilities.

Develop and implement SOPs for all operations and production activities.

Coordinate with vendors, contractors and service providers for timely execution.

Ensure availability and maintenance of tools, dies, consumables, and spares.

- Production & Operations Management

Plan and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.

Monitor machine performance, wastage control, downtime reduction and throughput improvement.

Implement Lean Manufacturing / 5S / Kaizen practices.

Ensure adequate stock of raw material and packaging inputs.

Maintain production MIS and submit daily/weekly reports.

- Quality Control & Assurance

Implement quality checks at raw material, in-process, and finished product levels.

Ensure product quality meets customer specifications and industry standards.





Lead root cause analysis for defects and drive corrective / preventive actions.

- Compliance & Regulatory Management

Ensure compliance with Factory Act, Pollution Control Board, Fire & Safety, Labour Laws, ISO/FSSAI where applicable.

Maintain required documentation, registers, licenses, permits.

Conduct periodic safety training and drills.

- Maintenance & Utility Management

Ensure proper preventive and breakdown maintenance.

Maintain machines, compressors, generators, curing/lamination/coating equipment, etc.

Manage energy consumption and cost efficiency.

- Cost Optimization & Continuous Improvement

Control operational costs, reduce wastage and improve production efficiencies.

Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering OR Printing / Packaging Technology.

Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing (paper converting / packaging preferred).

Strong leadership, problem-solving and execution skills.

Knowledge of production planning, manpower handling and statutory factory compliances.

Practical understanding of maintenance and quality systems.

Proficiency in MS Excel / ERP production reporting is an added advantage.
