Test Engineer (Embedded Systems)

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Test Engineer Embedded Systems with hands-on experience in embedded software testing, Python scripting, software testing methodologies, and communication protocols. The candidate will be responsible for requirement analysis, test scenario and test case design, test execution, defect tracking, and validation of embedded systems.

Experience with embedded test automation equipment, Python-based test automation, and hardware-software integration testing will be an added advantage.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Analyze product requirements, technical specifications, and software requirements.
- Design and develop test scenarios, test conditions, and test cases based on functional and technical requirements.
- Execute functional, system-level, and integration testing of embedded systems.
- Develop and execute Python scripts for testing and test automation.
- Validate embedded communication protocols, including CAN, MODBUS, RS-232, RS-485, and serial communication.
- Analyze test results, identify deviations, and report defects.
- Log, track, and manage defects using test management and bug-tracking tools.
- Perform defect retesting, verification, and regression testing.
- Ensure adequate test coverage through test procedures, test scripts, and documentation.
- Collaborate with software developers, hardware engineers, and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Maintain test documentation, execution reports, and defect logs.




- Contribute to improving testing methodologies, automation frameworks, and overall test efficiency.

Mandatory Skills
- Hands-on experience in Embedded Systems Testing.
- Proficiency in Python scripting for testing or automation.
- Good understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
- Knowledge of software testing methodologies and test case design techniques.
- Strong understanding of the Bug/Defect Life Cycle.
- Experience with test management and defect-tracking tools.
- Knowledge of embedded communication protocols:
- CAN
- MODBUS
- Serial Communication
- RS-232
- RS-485

- Experience in requirement analysis, test scenario preparation, test execution, and defect reporting.
- Robust analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with embedded test automation equipment.
- Knowledge of embedded test automation frameworks and tools.
- Experience in Python-based test automation utilities.
- Exposure to hardware-software integration testing.
- Experience testing embedded hardware and firmware.
- Familiarity with communication protocol analyzers, test benches, and debugging tools.
