About the Company
Seclodian is building a compliance assessment and remediation platform that helps organizations conduct structured, evidence-based audits and move findings through to closure.
We are looking for an experienced auditor or compliance qualified to work with our product team on a fractional contract basis. You will bring the practitioner’s perspective into product design: helping us ensure that our workflows reflect how audits actually operate, testing new features, and telling us candidly whether they solve a meaningful problem.
This is not a daily operational role. We expect approximately five hours of contribution per week, arranged flexibly around agreed product reviews and testing cycles.
What You Will Help Us Build
You will advise and test an end-to-end audit lifecycle covering:
Audit planning → Control testing → Evidence requests → Evidence submission → Evidence review → Sampling → Auditor comments → Exceptions and findings → Remediation → Re-testing → Audit conclusion and reporting
Responsibilities
- Review product requirements, workflows, prototypes, and terminology from an auditor’s perspective.
- Help define realistic audit states, roles, permissions, decision points, and approval steps.
- Recommend what evidence, sampling records, reviewer notes, and audit trails should be maintained.
- Test product features using realistic audit scenarios and sample evidence.
- Identify workflow gaps, confusing interactions, missing controls, and risks to audit traceability.
- Assess whether proposed features provide genuine value to auditors, auditees, and compliance teams.
- Provide clear, prioritized feedback that product, design, engineering, and QA teams can act upon.
- Help define acceptance criteria and practical test scenarios.
- Participate in occasional product walkthroughs or feedback discussions.
- Support re-testing after improvements are implemented.
Expected Deliverables
Depending on the product stage, deliverables may include:
- Annotated workflow or prototype feedback.
- Audit lifecycle and control-testing recommendations.
- Evidence and sampling requirements.
- Realistic audit scenarios and test cases.
- Feature validation notes: valuable, needs improvement, or not valuable, with reasons.
- Identified exceptions, usability issues, and product gaps.
- Re-testing results and release recommendations.
Ideal Background
- Hands-on experience conducting or managing compliance, privacy, information security, internal, or technology audits.
- Strong understanding of control testing, evidence evaluation, sampling, findings, remediation, and audit reporting.
- Experience with one or more relevant frameworks or areas, such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, privacy compliance, data protection, third-party risk, internal controls, or regulatory assessments.
- Ability to distinguish between sufficient evidence, incomplete evidence, management representations, and unsupported claims.
- Comfortable reviewing early-stage product designs and giving direct, constructive feedback.
- Strong written communication and the ability to translate audit practices into clear product requirements.
- Willingness to test workflows personally rather than providing only high-level advice.
Particularly Valuable
- Experience with privacy or data-protection assessments, including India’s DPDP framework.
- Experience using governance, risk, compliance, audit-management, or evidence-management software.
- Previous involvement in product discovery, user research, user acceptance testing, or SaaS product design.
- Relevant credentials such as CISA, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, CIA, CIPP, CIPM, or equivalent practical experience.
Certifications are helpful, but strong hands-on experience and product judgment are more important.
Engagement
- Independent contractor engagement.
- Approximately five hours per week.
- Remote and flexible, with mutually agreed meeting times.
Why Work With Seclodian?
This is an opportunity to shape an audit and compliance product while it is being built. Your recommendations will directly influence workflows, evidence requirements, testing behavior, and the experience of future auditors and compliance teams.
We value honest practitioner feedback. We are looking for someone who will challenge assumptions, demonstrate how audits work in real situations, and help us build features that are useful rather than merely impressive in a demonstration.
How to Apply
Please send the responses of the following questions to
[email protected] :
- A short summary of your relevant audit experience.
- The types of audits or assessments you have performed.
- Any experience with audit, GRC, privacy, or compliance software.
- Your preferred hourly rate and general weekly availability.
- An example of a workflow, control, or product feature you helped improve.
Please do not include confidential client reports or evidence.
