Role Description The Commis Chef role at Ayatana Resorts is a full-time, on-site position based in Ooty.

The Commis

Chef will support the kitchen team in daily food preparation, assisting with cooking tasks and maintaining consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.

Responsibilities include following recipes and instructions from senior chefs, preparing ingredients, organizing workstation supplies, and helping with plating during service. The role also involves maintaining strict hygiene and safety standards, ensuring cleanliness of equipment and work areas,



and adhering to resort policies.

The Commis

Chef will work closely with colleagues, communicate effectively with the team, and contribute to a smooth and efficient kitchen operation.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Food Preparation and Culinary Skills, with a basic understanding of cooking techniques.
- Candidates should possess a high standard of Hygiene practices and knowledge of kitchen safety protocols.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to collaborate with chefs and other team members.
- Candidates should possess practical Cooking experience, preferably in a resort, hotel, or restaurant environment.
- Relevant culinary certification or diploma is beneficial, along with a willingness to learn and take direction from senior chefs.
