Role Description The Category Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Indore, responsible for managing assigned product categories across the company’s distribution and retail channels. This role involves developing category strategies, planning assortments, and optimizing product mix to drive sales, margin, and market share. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing sales and market data, forecasting demand, coordinating procurement plans, and monitoring inventory levels.

The Category

Manager collaborates with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams, negotiates with suppliers, manages contracts,



and supports pricing and promotion decisions. The role also includes tracking category performance, identifying opportunities for new products, and implementing continuous improvements aligned with business goals.

Qualifications

- Strong Category Management experience, including assortment planning, pricing, and promotion management for FMCG or food-related products.
- Advanced Analytical Skills for interpreting sales data, market trends, and customer insights to inform category decisions.
- Proficiency in Contract Negotiation and vendor management, with the ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationships.
- Hands-on experience in Procurement, including sourcing, cost optimization, and inventory planning.
- Sales acumen, with proven ability to collaborate with sales teams and drive category growth across channels.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders.
- Comfort with MS Excel and relevant analytical or ERP tools; experience in retail or food industry is highly preferred.

- Demonstrated ability to work on-site in a rapid-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
