Role: Telecom Core Network SME - Data Engineering

Experience Range: 6-10 Years

Role Summary

We are looking for a Telecom Core Network Domain Expert with hands-on Data Engineering experience to support network data pipelines, analytics, and reporting initiatives. The ideal candidate should possess deep expertise in Core Network technologies along with practical experience in Python, SQL, Snowflake, Databricks, and PySpark to transform telecom network data into actionable insights.

Must-Have Skills

Telecom Core Network

- Strong expertise in 2G/3G/4G/5G Core Network architecture.
- Hands-on experience with EPC and 5G Core (AMF, SMF, UPF, NRF), IMS.
- Strong knowledge of telecom protocols and interfaces:
- Diameter
- SS7
- SIP
- GTP
- RADIUS

- Experience working with:

- CDRs/xDRs
- PM (Performance Management) Counters
- FM (Fault Management) Alarms
- Signaling Traces

- Understanding of OSS/BSS systems and telecom vendor platforms (Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of network KPIs such as throughput, latency, call drop rate, and handover success rate.
- Experience supporting Network Operations, Performance Monitoring, or Capacity Planning.

Data Engineering
- Robust proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Experience building and maintaining data pipelines.




- Hands-on experience with Snowflake.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks.
- Experience using PySpark for data processing and transformation.
- Knowledge of data modeling and data quality principles.

Good-to-Have Skills
- Airflow or similar orchestration tools.
- Cloud platform exposure (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Experience with telecom analytics and reporting solutions.
- Exposure to Machine Learning use cases such as:
- Anomaly Detection
- Predictive Maintenance
- Network Performance Optimization

- Experience working in large-scale telecom transformation or modernization programs.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as the SME for Core Network architecture, protocols, and network data sources.
- Collaborate with Network Engineering, OSS/BSS, and NOC teams to define network data requirements.
- Analyze network KPIs, signaling traces, CDRs/xDRs, PM counters, and FM alarms.
- Build and maintain network data pipelines using Python, SQL, PySpark, Snowflake, and Databricks.
- Support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis through data-driven insights.
- Document network data flows, schemas, and business rules.
- Ensure compliance with telecom data privacy, security, and regulatory standards.
