Role Description The Article Trainee – GST (Chennai) will support the GST team in day-to-day compliance and advisory work for a wide range of clients.

Responsibilities include assisting in preparation and filing of GST returns, maintaining working papers and documentation, and supporting GST audits and assessments. The trainee will conduct basic research on GST provisions, circulars, and notifications, and help in drafting notes,



summaries, and reports under supervision. The role involves coordinating with internal teams and clients to collect data, verify information, and ensure timely completion of assignments.

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, offering hands-on exposure to GST compliance and consulting in a professional CA firm environment.

Qualifications

- Strong understanding of basic accounting, taxation concepts, and willingness to specialize in GST.
- Ability to research tax laws, interpret GST rules and notifications, and prepare clear working notes.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and other office productivity tools for data analysis, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Positive written and verbal communication skills for client interactions and preparation of documentation.
- Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
- Enrollment in CA/CS/CMA or relevant commerce/accounting degree program; prior internship in taxation or audit is an advantage.
- Willingness to learn, collaborate with diverse teams, and adhere to professional ethics and firm policies.
