Role Description The Area Legal Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru South, responsible for overseeing legal activities related to housing finance operations within the assigned region. This includes vetting and drafting loan documentation, reviewing property and title documents, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. The role involves coordinating with external legal firms for opinions, reports, and litigation support, as well as providing legal guidance to branch and credit teams on complex cases.

The Area Legal

Manager will support resolution of disputes, handle legal notices,



assist in recovery and enforcement actions, and maintain accurate legal records and documentation. The role also includes contributing to process improvement, risk mitigation, and training operational teams on legal and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong legal knowledge in property law, contract law, and regulatory compliance relevant to housing finance and lending.
- Candidates should possess experience in title verification, due diligence of property documents, and drafting and reviewing loan and security documentation.
- Candidates should possess skills in litigation management, handling legal notices, and coordinating with external counsel for recovery and dispute resolution.
- Candidates should possess capabilities in risk assessment, legal opinion writing, and supporting internal stakeholders with clear, practical legal advice.
- Candidates should possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Candidates should possess effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with branch, credit, operations, and external partners.
- A graduate or postgraduate degree in Law (LL.B / LL.M) from a recognized institution is preferred; prior experience in housing finance, banking, NBFC, or financial services will be an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru South, manage multiple cases and deadlines, and demonstrate high standards of integrity and professional ethics.
