About the role

J. K. Steels is hiring a full time Accountant to own GST reconciliation, Tally bookkeeping and Excel reporting for the business.

J. K. Steels is a steel trading firm based in Thane West, with a godown in Chikhali, Pune. We import and trade all kinds of steel, both recent material and scrap, and deal with a steady base of customers and scrap vendors. The Accountant keeps our books accurate, our GST filings matched, and our customer and vendor balances clear, reporting directly to the proprietor.

Key responsibilities

GST reconciliation and compliance
Reconcile purchase register with GSTR-2A / GSTR-2B every month and follow up with vendors on missing or mismatched invoices
Reconcile sales register with GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B; flag differences before filing
Track input tax credit (ITC) eligibility, reversals and carry-forward
Prepare data for GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and annual returns (GSTR-9 / 9C) and coordinate with our CA
Handle e-way bills and e-invoices for sales and stock movement between Thane and Pune
Reconcile TDS / TCS deducted by customers (including GST TDS) against Form 26AS and customer ledgers

Tally accounting
Record all sales, purchase, import,



payment, receipt, journal and contra entries in Tally
Maintain customer and vendor ledgers, including scrap vendor accounts
Bank reconciliation for all company bank accounts, at least monthly
Record import purchases with customs duty, IGST and freight correctly
Maintain stock records for recent steel and scrap in line with physical stock at the godown

Excel work and reporting
Maintain purchase-order, vendor-payment and outstanding trackers in Excel / Google Sheets
Prepare monthly reports: sales, purchases, receivables and payables ageing, GST liability
Use VLOOKUP / XLOOKUP, pivot tables and SUMIFS to match and summarise data

Other accounts work
Follow up with customers on payment collection and confirm balances with customers and vendors
Prepare payment schedules for vendors and track advance payments
Assist the CA with TDS returns, income tax, audit and year-end closing
Keep invoices, bills and documents filed and audit-ready

Pay: ₹8,500.00 - ₹16,000.00 per month
