Role Description The Baker at Tortoise Cafe is a full time, in office role based in Rajkot, responsible for preparing a variety of baked goods such as breads, cookies, pastries, and other café items. Day-to-day tasks include mixing and baking doughs, monitoring ovens and equipment, ensuring product quality and consistency, and maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards in the kitchen. The Baker will follow established recipes while also contributing ideas for new menu items and seasonal offerings. The role involves organizing ingredients, managing production schedules,



coordinating with the café team to meet customer demand, and ensuring that displays are well-stocked and visually appealing.

Qualifications
Strong foundation in bakery operations, including working in a Bakery environment and managing production routines.
Hands-on Baking skills with experience preparing a variety of baked goods.
Food Preparation skills with a focus on safe handling, hygiene, and consistency.
Experience specifically with Cookies and Bread, including mixing, proofing, baking, and finishing.
Ability to follow and scale recipes, measure ingredients accurately, and work efficiently under time constraints.
Attention to detail, reliability, and ability to maintain high standards of quality and presentation.
Prior experience as a baker or in a commercial kitchen is preferred; formal culinary or bakery training is an advantage.

Basic baking skills are a must, pastry and boulangerie skills are a bonus.
