Position Overview We're seeking a skilled and motivated Remote CNC Programmer & Design Engineer to support our associate entity's expanding operations.
This remote role focuses primarily on:
- CNC programming using Fusion 360
- Manufacturing process planning
- CAD/CAM support
- Basic fixture and tooling concepts
- Estimating and production preparation support
Key Responsibilities
CNC Programming
- Create CNC milling and turning programs using Fusion 360
- Generate effective and safe toolpaths for production
- Optimize feeds, speeds, tooling, and cycle times
- Prepare setup sheets and tooling lists
- Review drawings and recommend machining strategies
- Support process improvements and cost reduction
CAD & Design Support
- Create and modify 2D/3D CAD models
- Prepare manufacturing drawings
- Assist with fixture and tooling concepts
- Support minor product and manufacturing design changes
Production & Documentation Support
- Assist with quotation preparation
- Estimate machining time and material requirements
- Organize manufacturing files and revisions
- Maintain proper documentation and communication
- Coordinate remotely with shop-floor operations in Canada
Required Skills :
- Strong experience with Fusion 360 CAM
- Good understanding of CNC machining processes
- Experience with milling and turning operations
- Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T;
- Knowledge of tooling selection and machining strategy
- Understanding of machining materials such as: Mild steel, Stainless steel, Aluminum, 4140/8620, Tool steels, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Manufacturing/Tool & Die
- Experience in job-shop or custom manufacturing environment
- Experience required: 1.5 years to 2 years
Familiarity with :
- CNC fixtures
- Production planning
- Quotation support
- Sheet metal or fabrication drawings
- Experience with Makino, Mazak, Fanuc, or similar CNC systems is an advantage
