Purpose of the Role

Is responsible for execution, evaluation of R&D; hybrid and line trial of Vegetable Crops Seeds in specified region or geographical area with the management of supportive team

Position : Research Assistant - Tomato

Location : Pune

Reporting : Breeder

- Tomato

Qualifications : Minimum B.Sc. (Ag) and higher education will be preferred

Experience :



3 to 5 years in seed companies especially Vegetable or Solanaceae crop will be preferred

Major Job Responsibilities

- Have a good communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to interact with individuals at all levels and work as a part of a team as well as independently
- Commitment to work, result oriented, hard working with a quest and zeal to learn recent technology and undertake challenging tasks and responsibilities.
- Comfortable to work according to the situation requirements and invest extra time and efforts as and when required
- Practical experience in vegetable crop growing especially Solanaceae crops
- Practical experience to manage Solanaceae crops in controlled polyhouses and Assist to execute plans of Hybrid seed production, Breeder seed multiplication, Back cross, Single Seed Decent (SSD) breeding etc.
- Assist to collect observations on fruit quality data of trials.
- Assist to collect leaf samples for marker projects with accuracy
- Seed harvesting, Processing, packaging, listing and inventory in software.
- Field observation of Distinctness, uniformity, stability data, Hybrid trial data, Parental lines, Germplasms and good photography skills
