ob Overview Job Title : Area Sales Manager (ASM) - AEPS & Domestic Money Transfer (DMT)

- Department : Sales & Distribution / Retail Business
- Reports To : Regional Sales Manager (RSM) / Zonal Head
- Location : Assigned District/Territory (Requires extensive local travel)
- Key Responsibilities1. Network Expansion & Merchant AcquisitionRecruit, onboard, and manage a network of Distributors, Super Distributors, and Retailers (Grahak Seva Kendra / Merchant points) within the assigned territory.
- Pitch fintech services (AEPS, Micro ATM, DMT, BBPS bill payments, and insurance) to local shop owners and rural entrepreneurs.
- Identify unserved or underserved areas to strategically place current merchant touchpoints.
- 1. Team Leadership & Field SupportManage and drive a team of Sales Executives (FSEs) / Territory Managers .

- Accompany the field team on market visits to close high-value accounts and resolve local distribution blocks.
- 1. Volume Growth & Transaction VelocityOwn the regional target for GTV (Gross Transaction Value) across AEPS and Micro ATM products.

- Reactivate non-performing or "dormant" retail agents by understanding their issues (e.g., cash liquidity problems, technical glitches) and offering solutions.
- Implement local marketing and branding activities (putting up banners, posters at shops) to increase walk-in customers for merchants.
- 1. Liquidity & Cash Management LiaisonHelp retailers manage their daily cash requirements for payouts.





- Coordinate with local bank branches or cash drop agencies to ensure merchants have enough rolling cash to execute uninterrupted cash withdrawal services.
- 1. Compliance & Escalation HandlingMonitor transaction success/failure rates and liaise with the operations team to resolve failed or stuck transactions.

- Ensure all merchant onboardings strictly follow regulatory KYC (Know Your Customer) and NPCI/UIDAI guidelines to prevent digital fraud.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) / KRAsThe performance of an AEPS ASM is typically mapped against the following concrete metrics:

- Active Retailer Count : Number of merchants doing at least 1 transaction a week.

- Monthly GTV : Total volume of cash withdrawn or transferred through the assigned territory.

- Device Sales : Monthly targets achieved for selling Micro ATM devices and biometric scanners.

- Retention Rate : Minimizing the percentage of retailers migrating to competitor fintech apps.

- Required Profile & Qualifications Education : Graduation in any stream (MBA in Sales/Marketing is a plus but not mandatory).

- Experience :3 to 7 years** of hard-core field sales experience in Fintech, Telecom (SIM/recharge distribution), FMCG, or Mobile Wallet industries.

- Domain Knowledge :



Deep understanding of the rural retail ecosystem, distributor networks, and digital payment systems (AEPS, UPI, Micro-ATM).

- Skills : Excellent negotiation, team handling, and local language proficiency.

- Must Have : A personal vehicle (two-wheeler), a smartphone, and a willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory daily.
