The factory is located at Ponnapuram Village, Dharapuram Taluk, and is being developed with a strong focus on quality systems, process discipline, laboratory testing, product consistency, safety, cleanliness, and audit-ready operations.

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities1. Laboratory Testing & Analysis

- Carry out routine testing of coconut shell charcoal, in-process activated carbon, finished activated carbon, and value-added carbon samples.
- Perform testing for key activated carbon parameters such as iodine value, CTC activity, moisture, ash, pH, apparent density, hardness, particle size / mesh analysis, water soluble ash, acid soluble ash,



and other required parameters as per internal SOPs.
- Support testing for acid washed, water washed, powdered, granular, and specialty activated carbon grades as required.
- Prepare reagents, standard solutions, indicators, and laboratory consumables as per approved methods.
- Ensure tests are completed accurately within the required turnaround time for production release and dispatch planning.

1. Sampling & Sample Management

- Collect and receive samples from raw material, activation, post-activation, screening, packing, and dispatch areas as per sampling plan.
- Maintain proper sample identification, batch numbering, retention samples, and sample storage records.
- Coordinate with production, stores, packing, and dispatch teams for timely sample collection and result communication.
- Avoid sample mix-up by following proper labelling, sealing, and documentation procedures.

- Quality Documentation & Reporting

- Record test results accurately in laboratory registers, worksheets, ERP / Excel formats, and quality reports.
- Prepare daily test reports, batch-wise quality reports, and internal quality summaries for review by the QA/QC Manager.
- Support preparation of Certificate of Analysis inputs and batch release data under the guidance of the Quality Head.
- Maintain calibration records, reagent preparation records, equipment usage logs, sample registers, and housekeeping checklists.
- Immediately report any abnormal result, deviation,



repeat test, or out-of-specification observation to the QA/QC Manager.

- Laboratory Equipment & Calibration

- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as ovens, muffle furnace, pH meter, weighing balance, mechanical sieve shaker, hardness tester, glassware, titration setup, and other testing instruments.
- Perform routine verification and basic calibration checks as per laboratory schedule.
- Ensure instruments are clean, labelled, maintained, and used only as per SOP.
- Report instrument breakdowns, abnormal readings, and maintenance requirements promptly.

- Factory Quality Support

- Support production quality monitoring during granulation, activation, cooling, destoning, crushing, screening, post-activation, packing, and dispatch stages.
- Help identify variation in raw charcoal quality, activation output, particle size distribution, hardness, ash, and other quality parameters.
- Support corrective actions and re-testing when quality deviation is observed.
- Coordinate with shift in-charges and department teams to ensure samples are tested and communicated without delay.

- Safety, Cleanliness & Laboratory Discipline

- Follow laboratory safety rules while handling acids, alkalis, chemicals, hot equipment, glassware, and sample materials.
- Maintain the laboratory in clean, organized, audit-ready condition at all times.
- Use PPE such as lab coat, gloves, goggles, safety shoes, and mask wherever required.
- Ensure proper chemical storage, labelling, disposal, and segregation of laboratory waste.
- Follow 5S, housekeeping, and safety discipline expected in a professional manufacturing factory.
