Job Overview

As a VOIP Technician , you will be responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting VoIP telephony systems and network infrastructure. You’ll support internal teams, troubleshoot customer issues, and ensure reliable voice communication systems.

Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Support & Operations

- Install, configure, and maintain VoIP systems, IP PBX, SIP trunks, and related hardware/software.
- Perform troubleshooting for VoIP calls, latency issues, echo, jitter, registration failures, or call drops.
- Manage VoIP gateways, SIP trunks, codecs, dial plans, call routing, and QoS settings.
- Coordinate with network teams to ensure proper QoS and bandwidth allocation for voice traffic.

Network & System Administration

- Monitor system performance, analyze logs, and resolve network/VoIP issues proactively.
- Configure routers, switches, firewalls to support VoIP traffic and security.
- Maintain backups, firmware updates, and patch installations for VoIP equipment.




- Implement security best practices to protect telephony systems from attack.

Customer & Internal Support

- Provide technical assistance to internal teams, clients, and field engineers.
- Prepare and deliver technical reports, tickets, escalation logs, and resolution documentation.
- Train users on VoIP features, call flows, extensions, conferencing, and usage guidelines.

Project & Deployment Activities

- Assist with VoIP deployments, relocations, upgrades, and migrations.
- Participate in testing new technologies, beta products, and proof of concepts.
- Support disaster recovery and redundancy planning for voice infrastructure.

Skills & QualificationsRequired

- Diploma in IT, or relevant field.
- VoIP knowledge : SIP, RTP, SIP proxies, session border controllers.
- Robust understanding of networking: TCP/IP, VLAN, DHCP, DNS, NAT, VPN.
- Proficient in troubleshooting voice quality issues and network-related VoIP issues.

Preferred

- Certifications like CCNA Voice, SIP certification, Asterisk Admin.
- Experience with OSS/BSS tools, VoIP billing platforms, or cloud-based VoIP solutions
