TRUST, a Salem-based non-profit organisation, is hiring a Project Officer to support a new organic farming initiative in the Kalrayan Hills. The role involves end-to-end project management including farmer mobilisation, training, crop supervision, ensuring compliance with organic production standards and paddy marketing/sales.

The role also involves periodically supervising the teachers running of a computer coaching centre and tuition centres in the Kalrayan Hills office campus and nearby villages. NGO experience is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee implementation of all organic farming activities
- Supervise Agriculture Associates in farming activities
- Create awareness about organic farming practices among farmers
- Identify, engage, and onboard farmers for the project
- Arrange/conduct farmer training programs
- Oversee harvesting, storage, and dispatch activities




- Coordinate with farmers and market/sell harvest
- Supervise the running of the computer coaching centre and tuition centres
- Monitor TRUST’s women’s self-help group micro-credit program
- Responsible for upkeeping of Karumandurai Office, buildings and its campus
- Compile and submit project data and reports to Executive Director
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by Executive Director
- Degree in Agriculture or related field
- Knowledge or experience in organic farming/marketing preferred
- Experience working in an NGO setting preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build long-term relationships with farming communities
- Highly motivated and willing to work in a rural/tribal setting
- Strong team player with multitasking abilities
