About the Role

Zeitgeist Retail Pvt. Ltd. (ZRPL) is looking for an experienced and technology-driven Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead the company's technology strategy, engineering organization, product technology, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital transformation initiatives.

The CTO will be responsible for building a scalable, secure, reliable, and cost-efficient technology ecosystem that supports ZRPL's e-commerce and retail operations. The role requires a strong combination of technology leadership, enterprise architecture, product thinking, engineering excellence, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and business understanding.

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Define and execute the company's technology vision, strategy, and multi-year technology roadmap aligned with business objectives.
- Lead technology transformation across e-commerce, retail, supply chain, order management, customer experience, and internal business systems.
- Lead and mentor the engineering organization, including product, backend, frontend, mobile, DevOps, QA, architecture, and technical support functions.
- Build a high-performing engineering culture focused on quality, ownership, scalability, security, and delivery velocity.




- Establish engineering KPIs covering productivity, quality, reliability, deployment frequency, incident management, and technical debt.
- Drive adoption of modern software engineering practices including:
- Agile/Scrum
- CI/CD
- Automated testing
- Code review
- Observability
- Infrastructure as Code
- DevSecOps
- Ensure predictable delivery of technology initiatives while maintaining engineering quality.
- Design scalable architectures for high-traffic e-commerce and retail platforms.
- Drive modernization of legacy systems and migration toward cloud-native architectures.
- Establish API and integration standards across internal and external systems.
- Ensure high availability and performance during campaigns, promotions, traffic spikes, and peak sales periods.
- Lead technology integration with brand platforms, marketplaces, OMS, WMS, logistics partners, payment gateways, and other external systems.
- Own the organization's cloud and infrastructure strategy, primarily across AWS or equivalent cloud platforms.
- Design highly available, scalable, and resilient infrastructure.
- Establish security-by-design and DevSecOps practices across the software development lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, contractual, and industry requirements.
- Lead security incident response and technology risk management.
- Establish scalable data architecture for analytics, reporting, personalization, and operational intelligence.
- Own the architecture and governance of integrations with:



Brand/merchant systems, OMZ, WMS, ERP, Payment gateways, Logistics providers, Marketplaces, CRM, Marketing platforms and Customer service platforms
- Establish standardized API, webhook, authentication, monitoring, and integration practices.
- Work closely with the MD, business leadership, product, operations, finance, marketing, and other functions.

Required Technical Expertise

Strong hands-on understanding of several of the following:

- Cloud: AWS / GCP
- Backend: Node.js, Nest.js, Python, PHP/Laravel
- Frontend: React.js, Next.js
- Databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB
- Caching: Redis
- Search: Elasticsearch / OpenSearch
- Messaging: Kafka / RabbitMQ / BullMQ
- Containers: Docker, Kubernetes
- CI/CD: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or equivalent
- Infrastructure: Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
- Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, New Relic or equivalent
- Web & Networking: CDN, WAF, DNS, Load Balancers, API Gateway, Nginx
- Security: OAuth2, JWT, TLS, encryption, IAM, VAPT, DevSecOps
- Architecture: Microservices, event-driven architecture, distributed systems, API-first architecture

Preferred Experience

- Experience with high-scale e-commerce and retail platforms.
- Experience with Magento, Shopify, or other enterprise commerce platforms.
- Experience integrating OMS, WMS, ERP, logistics, payment, and marketplace systems.
- Experience with cloud migration and modernization of legacy systems.
- Experience implementing microservices and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with AI/ML and Generative AI adoption.
- Experience managing technology budgets and external technology vendors.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹3,000,000.00 - ₹4,000,000.00 per year
