The Buying/Procurement Specialist is responsible for ensuring the timely availability of materials at factories, service sites, and suppliers. The role serves as the primary point of contact for order execution and is accountable for supplier performance, material availability, fulfilment KPIs, and cross-functional coordination to support uninterrupted production.

Ensure timely PO placement and material delivery as per contractual commitments.
Manage procurement based on MRP requirements and need dates.
Monitor supplier OTD (On-Time Delivery) and quality performance.
Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Quality, Logistics, Sourcing, and Supplier Quality teams.
Facilitate inspections, NCR closures, and transportation planning.
Collaborate with Wabtec network factories and offshore suppliers.
Drive best practices in MRP/MTA planning and fulfilment processes.
Lead or participate in supplier performance rating and improvement programs.
Procurement and supplier management.
MRP and production planning understanding.
ERP knowledge (Oracle preferred).
Advanced Excel and MS Office skills.
Data analysis and reporting capabilities.
Commercial acumen and contract awareness.

Solid collaboration and networking skills.




Ability to prioritize and manage multiple suppliers/projects simultaneously.

Supplier OTD performance.
Inventory and material visibility accuracy.
Education & Working Experience
B.E./B.Tech from any reputed institute.
Minimum 5+ years of experience.

Language Skills
~ Proficient in English language
