Position: Design Engineer – Gearbox (Mechanical) Employment type: Full-time

Experience: 6–10 years

Qualification: B.E. in Mechanical Engineering

Department: Electromechanics

Budget: ₹18 LPA, with flexibility of ₹1–2 lakh depending on experience and seniority

Position Summary

Work on local and global programs in an international workplace, collaborating with release teams and other functional groups. Handle gearbox modelling and drafting from the concept layout phase through SOP, proactively identify potential issues, and develop solutions to meet performance objectives and program timelines.

Key Responsibilities

Create specifications, drawings, and bills of materials for gearbox components.

Perform design modelling and drafting for geared motor products and projects.

Deliver engineering outputs on schedule.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams as required by the project.

Work according to applicable design codes and assigned software tools.

Design and optimize cast parts.





Participate in functional testing of geared motor prototypes.

Contribute to localization and value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE).

Review supplier documents and drawings, and provide comments or acceptance as required.

Required Skills and Experience

Expert knowledge of ISO/DIN standards and methodologies for calculating load capacity.

Experience designing gearboxes, transmissions, and/or powertrains.

Strong mechanical design fundamentals.

Hands-on expertise with design software such as Romax and KISSsoft.

Experience with Siemens NX (Unigraphics).

Experience with a PLM/ERP system such as SAP or Teamcenter.

Good written and spoken English communication skills.

Preferred

Experience in the industrial gearbox or geared motor industry.

German language skills.

Experience working in a global cross-functional team.
