Position: Procurement Manager

Industry: Oil & Gas / Process Industry / Fabrication Job Responsibilities

Develop and implement procurement strategies for raw materials, fabricated equipment, and engineered components.

Manage procurement of plates, tubes, pipes, flanges, fittings, gaskets, instrumentation, and other bought-out items.

Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers, including EIL-approved vendors.

Lead and mentor a team of 3–4 buyers.

Handle techno-commercial negotiations, vendor development, cost analysis, and supplier performance management.

Manage outsourcing of fabricated structures and procurement of skids, compressor packages, pressure vessels, and piping spools.

Oversee import procurement, international sourcing, and related commercial procedures.

Coordinate with finance, commercial, engineering,



and project teams to ensure timely material availability.

Use ERP systems, preferably SAP, for purchase orders, vendor tracking, and procurement planning.

Ensure compliance with quality standards, project specifications, taxation, duties, and commercial regulations.

Required Skills & Experience

- 15–20 years of procurement experience, particularly in the Oil & Gas sector.
- Robust expertise in raw materials, engineered bought-out items, instrumentation, and outsourced fabrication.
- Good understanding of carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, piping systems, and structural components.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, material specifications, and BOQs.
- Strong vendor negotiation, supplier development, cost control, and team management skills.
- Experience in import procurement and SAP/ERP systems is preferred.
