About Asorlia
Asorlia is a new eyewear company being built from the ground up in Bhubaneswar.
We believe eyewear should be more than something people buy simply because they need glasses. We want to build a brand where eyewear becomes an important part of personal style, combining thoughtful design, comfort, accessibility and quality.
We are currently at a very early stage. That means there is no large team, established brand book or predefined playbook for you to simply follow.
We are building the brand, products, e-commerce experience and customer journey from zero.
And that is exactly what makes this role interesting.
About the Role
We are looking for a Graphic Designer to become an important part of Luma's early core team.
This is not a role limited to creating Instagram posts or resizing existing designs.
You will work across the visual aspects of the business, from building Luma's visual language and creating brand assets to designing product communication, e-commerce creatives, campaigns, packaging and eventually offline brand communication.
Since we are an early stage company, the role will involve a fair amount of ambiguity. You may occasionally be given a problem rather than a perfectly defined design brief.
We are looking for someone who can take that problem, understand what needs to be achieved, explore possible solutions and take the work all the way to completion.
You will work closely with the founding team and will have a meaningful opportunity to influence how Luma looks and communicates as a brand.
Your responsibilities may include:
Developing and maintaining Luma's visual identity and design language
Creating graphics and visual assets for social media and digital marketing
Designing e-commerce assets including website banners, product pages and promotional creatives
Creating campaign concepts and campaign visuals
Developing product communication and visual storytelling
Working on packaging, inserts and other physical brand collateral
Designing presentations, marketing materials and internal brand assets
Supporting product launches and promotional campaigns
Creating visual concepts from initial ideas through final execution
Working with photography, illustrations, typography and other visual elements
Exploring and incorporating useful AI and emerging design tools into the workflow
Maintaining consistency across Luma's different customer touchpoints
Collaborating with the founding team, product, marketing and other members of the core team
Taking ownership of design projects from brief to completion
What We're Looking For
We are less interested in someone who simply knows every design software and more interested in someone who knows how to think and solve problems through design.
You should ideally have:
1–4 years of experience in graphic design or a closely related field
A strong understanding of typography, composition, colour, hierarchy and visual communication
A portfolio that demonstrates your design thinking and execution ability
Strong proficiency in tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and/or Figma
Good understanding of digital design and social media formats
An interest in branding and visual identity
The ability to understand a brief and translate it into effective visual communication
Strong attention to detail
The ability to take feedback and iterate quickly
Good communication skills
The ability to work independently when required
Experience with motion graphics, video editing, photography, packaging design, e-commerce design or AI assisted design workflows will be an advantage, but is not mandatory.
The Kind of Person We're Looking For
More than anything, we are looking for someone who is:
Curious: You enjoy learning things you don't already know.
Resourceful: When you don't know how to do something, you figure it out rather than waiting for someone to give you the answer.
Ownership driven: You don't see your responsibility as simply completing the task assigned to you.
You care about whether the final outcome actually works.
Collaborative: You can work with people who may not have a design background and turn sometimes vague feedback into something actionable.
Open to ambiguity: You are comfortable working in an environment where not everything has already been figured out.
Opinionated but receptive: You have your own creative perspective, but you are also willing to listen, question your assumptions and change direction when necessary.
Why Join Luma?
This is an opportunity to join a company at a stage where the brand is still being built.
You won't be joining to simply maintain an existing visual identity.
You will have the opportunity to help create it.
Your work could influence how Luma looks across its website, products, packaging, social media, campaigns and physical customer experience.
You will also work closely with the founding team, which means your ideas and contributions can have a direct impact on the direction of the company.
There will be a lot to learn, a lot to build and, inevitably, a lot of things we will figure out along the way.
If that sounds exciting to you rather than intimidating, we'd like to hear from you.
