Role Description This is a full time, on-site role for a Switchgear Design and Estimation Engineer located in Palghat. The role involves designing LV/MV switchgear and related electrical panels in line with project specifications, standards, and safety regulations. The engineer will prepare technical proposals, BOQs, and detailed cost estimations for tenders and ongoing projects, coordinating with sales, procurement, and project teams to finalize competitive bids.

Daily activities include reviewing drawings and technical documents,



performing load calculations, selecting appropriate components, and ensuring compliance with client and regulatory requirements. The role also includes interacting with vendors and clients for technical clarifications, supporting project execution teams with design-related queries, and contributing to continuous improvement of design and estimation processes.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong BOQ preparation and Project Estimation skills for switchgear and related electrical systems.
- Candidates should possess Civil Engineering and related technical coordination skills to understand interfacing with building services and infrastructure.
- Candidates should possess Negotiation and Research skills to obtain competitive quotations, evaluate technical options, and optimize project costs.
- Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering (or closely related discipline) with proven experience in LV/MV switchgear design and estimation.
- Solid understanding of relevant electrical standards, protection coordination, panel layout, and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in CAD or design tools and MS Office (especially Excel) for drawings, cost sheets, and technical documentation.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Prior experience in industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects and familiarity with tendering processes will be an advantage.
