Position: Senior Design Engineer

Location: Pune

Compensation: up to 9 LPA

Job Summary The Senior Design Engineer is responsible for leading the complete machine design and development lifecycle, from proposal engineering and conceptual design to manufacturing release, installation support, and standardization. The role requires close collaboration with customers, sales, manufacturing, and service teams to ensure technically sound, cost-effective, and high-quality machine solutions that meet customer requirements.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

- Participate in machine proposal discussions, analyse customer requirements, and coordinate with Sales and cross-functional teams.
- Prepare proposal drawings, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, preliminary layouts, and P&I; documentation as required.
- Perform engineering calculations for machine sizing, load analysis, component selection, and performance validation.
- Develop and finalize 3D models of machine assemblies, sub-assemblies, and individual components using CAD software.
- Ensure machine designs comply with engineering standards, safety, quality, and manufacturability requirements.
- Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings, maintain Bills of Materials (BOM), and release documents as per established procedures.
- Review machine layouts, manage engineering change requests,



and implement drawing revisions and modifications.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing and assembly teams and resolve design-related production issues.
- Participate in customer meetings, address Pre-Dispatch Inspection (PDI) observations, and update final engineering documentation.
- Coordinate with the Manager to standardize designs, optimize costs, improve manufacturability, and maintain engineering standards.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Experience

- 5–7 years of experience in machine design, special-purpose machines (SPM), automation and industrial equipment, or industrial machinery design.
- Experience in leading end-to-end machine design projects from concept to commissioning is preferred.
