Role Description This full-time, on-site Research and Development Staff role is based in Tenkasi and involves hands-on work within laboratory and prototyping environments. The role includes planning and executing experiments related to energy generation, storage devices, and advanced materials, as well as documenting methodologies, test conditions, and results in a explicit and reproducible manner. The R&D; staff member will collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine designs, optimize processing equipment, and support technology transfer from lab-scale concepts to manufacturable solutions.
Daily responsibilities include literature reviews, data collection and analysis, preparation of technical reports and presentations, and contribution to patent disclosures or publications as needed.
The role also supports maintaining laboratory safety standards, proper use of instruments, and continuous improvement of research workflows.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in slurry preparation, electrochemical coin cell, pouch cell fabrication and testing, interpreting experimental characterization data (XRD, XPS, FESEM, BET, TGA) and performance metrics.
- Demonstrated experience in Research and Development (R&D;), including designing experiments and supporting technology development.
- Solid Research capabilities, such as literature review, hypothesis formulation, and structured documentation of findings.
- Hands-on Laboratory Skills, including safe operation of lab equipment, chemical sample preparation, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Effective Communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and preparing clear technical reports and presentations.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, materials science, physics, chemistry, or a related technical field.
- Familiarity with energy systems, battery technologies, or advanced materials is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site in Tenkasi, manage multiple projects, and adapt to a fast-paced R&D; environment.
- Experience with data analysis tools, Origin or basic programming for scientific analysis is an advantage.
