Pattern Master
- Remote (Freelance) We’re a design-led luxury consumer brand looking for an experienced Pattern Master who can work with us on a freelance module.
Responsibilities:
• Draft production-ready flat patterns from design sketches and 3D files
• Create patterns for 3D objects, not just garments, turning sculpted forms with curves, volume and multiple panels into clean, buildable flat patterns
• Develop patterns for structured and plush pieces, with accurate seam allowances, notches and grainlines
• Work with premium fabrics, accounting for pile, nap direction, stretch and seam behaviour
• Correct and refine patterns after each sample round
• Grade patterns and calculate fabric consumption
• Prepare pattern files and cutting guides a manufacturer can work from
• Work with the founder and our 3D designer on design direction and feedback rounds
Requirements:
• 3 to 5 years of hands-on pattern making experience
• Proven experience patterning 3D forms such as bags or structured accessories, not only garments
• Portfolio showing luxury or structured product work
• Strong understanding of fabric properties and how they change a pattern
• Comfortable with digital pattern software (Gerber, Lectra, Optitex or CLO 3D)
• Able to work independently and meet deadlines
• Quick turnaround on revisions Engagement Details:
