Your role

Computer Operators at Kyndryl are key in helping revolutionize the way we operate complex computer systems. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology, supervise and control intricate networks and applications, and operate distributed systems in a multi-vendor environment.

What you do

- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve JCL abends, override issues, and symbolic parameter problems. Allocate and manage BIOS, TIF, GDG, and VSAM datasets.
- Identify ownership of Production and QA jobs and coordinate with appropriate development groups. Perform file out-of-space (FOOS) recovery and support batch/online recovery activities.
- Coordinate batch job restarts, abend recovery, and customer escalations. Utilize break-glass procedures for emergency production support access when required.
- Monitor and manage OPC/TWS job scheduling activities including hold/release actions, predecessor/successor analysis, and database lookups.
- Support NDM/Connect: Direct operations including process monitoring, troubleshooting transfer failures, DR transfers, and client file transfers.
- Perform PDX activities including installs, promotes, backouts, and password reset support using Power IDs. Manage ITSM incidents, problem tickets, FACHA/Hot Item creation, ticket reassignment, and closure activities.
- Process TSSR work orders, manage production/QA job requests, and respond to operational emails within SLA timelines. Execute weekend IPL support activities, validate environment availability, and coordinate fixes for out-of-sequence abends.
- Ensure Production, QA, and Test regions are operational following maintenance and IPL activities.

- Provided 24x7 Mainframe Production Support for critical business applications, ensuring high availability, operational stability, and adherence to SLA commitments.
- Performed JCL troubleshooting, Abend analysis, batch monitoring, and recovery activities, minimizing production outages and ensuring timely job completion.
- Managed and monitored OPC/TWS batch scheduling and supported NDM/Connect: Direct file transfers across distributed environments.
- Administered VSAM, GDG, BMC, and TIF datasets, including allocation, maintenance, backup, recovery, and space management activities.
- Executed PDX deployments, IPL support activities, and production release implementations in compliance with change management processes.
- Handled Incident, Problem, and Change Management through ITSM tools, performing root cause analysis and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure effective service delivery and issue resolution.

Preferred Skills and Experience

- Provide end-to-end production support across Production, QA, and Test environments, ensuring high system availability and timely resolution of batch processing issues.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and recover batch jobs using JCL, OPC/TWS scheduling, VSAM, and GDG dataset management, while supporting critical business operations.
- Manage file transfer and deployment activities leveraging NDM/Connect: Direct, PDX deployments, and production change implementation processes.
- Handle incident management and ITSM ticketing, performing root cause analysis, issue escalation, and coordinating with development, infrastructure, storage, and client teams for resolution.
- Support system maintenance and weekend IPL activities, including production monitoring, job recovery, setting validation, and operational readiness across all regions.
