The Oligarchy is looking for a Geopolitics Research & Editorial Intern.
Why do countries become allies and then turn against each other? How do wars reshape economies, how does power influence foreign policy, and what's happening behind the headlines we scroll past every day?
If you've ever gone down a rabbit hole trying to understand global conflicts, international relations, diplomacy or the politics behind major world events, you might fit right in.
About The Oligarchy The Oligarchy is an independent research publication exploring crime, psychology, politics, finance, society and systems of power. We're interested in understanding the forces behind events, not simply reporting what happened.
I'm looking for someone who can help us explore the geopolitical side of that mission.
What you'll work on
- Research international relations, foreign policy and geopolitical developments.
- Write and develop well researched articles that make complex global issues understandable without oversimplifying them.
- Find credible sources, verify claims and examine different perspectives before drawing conclusions.
- Pitch original story ideas and explore the political, economic and historical factors behind global events.
Who should apply?
You don't need to be a political science student or have previous professional writing experience.
I'm interested in people who:
- Are genuinely curious about geopolitics, international affairs and global power dynamics.
- Can research independently and distinguish evidence from speculation.
- Have a clear writing style and are willing to revise their work.
- Are open to questioning their own assumptions and considering perspectives they disagree with.
- Want to develop their research, analytical thinking and editorial skills.
You don't need to know everything. You do need to be willing to learn.
