Buying Simplified is a US-headquartered procurement and finance operations firm. We work with US biotech, pharma, life sciences, industrial, and tech companies on how they buy, spend and run procurement. We’re growing fast, and alongside our Chennai base we’re now adding team members in Bangalore and Pune.

We’re looking for people who can take a client’s raw data and turn it into a decision.

What you’ll actually do

On a typical engagement you’ll get thousands of rows of spend, supplier or contract data from a client. You’ll clean and structure it, work out what it’s telling you, and stand in front of the client’s procurement and finance leaders to explain it: where the money is going, where the process is broken, and what to do about it.

Then you’ll lead the work that follows, with 1–2 analysts, directly with the client and without anyone hovering over you.

The work includes

- Building spend cubes and category views from messy ERP and AP data
- Finding savings, leakage, maverick spend, payment-term gaps and process bottlenecks
- Turning analysis into crisp executive storylines, dashboards and recommendations
- Running client workshops, weekly status calls and steering updates with US stakeholders
- Scoping the next phase, because good work opens new doors with the same client
- Coaching analysts on both the analysis and the client communication

Who you are

- MBA from a Tier 1 or Tier 2 school, with 5–8 years of experience after it
- Strong with Excel and numbers: pivots, lookups, reconciliation, structuring a messy dataset fast. You don’t need to code. We care about business judgment, not Python.
- A background in consulting, market research, business analysis, or supply chain/procurement analytics
- You can tell a story with data. Ten slides that lead a client to a decision matter more to you than fifty charts.
- You’re comfortable being the person the client calls, and you’d rather own a problem than wait for direction
- A procurement, sourcing or supply chain background is a strong plus

How we work

- Chennai: remote or hybrid, working from our Pallavaram office when it helps the work.
- Bangalore and Pune: remote, with one trip a month to Chennai to work with the team in person. Travel and stay are paid by the company.
- Shift: our clients are in the US, so the working day runs about 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM IST. You’ll get a shift allowance on top of base salary for working later then these hours.
