Linux VMware administrators provide support for Linux systems and VMware virtualisation environments, handling routine tasks, basic troubleshooting, and monitoring. This role focuses on operational efficiency, initial incident response, and collaboration with higher-level teams, aligning with your expertise in Linux admin and Imperva integrations.

Key Responsibilities:





Monitor Linux servers and VMware ESXi/vCenter for performance, availability, and alerts using tools like Nagios or vRealize.

Perform daily tasks such as VM provisioning from templates, snapshot management, reboots, and VMware Tools updates.

Handle L1 support tickets: basic Linux user account management, package installations (yum/apt), and log reviews for anomalies.

Required Skills:

Solid Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu): File systems, networking, and security hardening. Basic VMware knowledge: ESXi host management, vSphere client usage, HA/DRS basics, and storage/network configurations.

Familiarity with monitoring, backups and ticketing systems; intro to cloud (AWS/Azure) a plus. Solid problem-solving for L1 escalations; ability to document processes and follow SOPs.

DAM-Specific Duties:

Demonstrate basic understanding of DAM tools (e.g., Imperva DAM) for monitoring database queries, user activities, and anomalous access patterns.

Assist in integrating Unix agents with DAM solutions for real-time alerting on database threats and compliance reporting.

Perform introductory log analysis from DAM feeds to support security incident response.
