Role Description The Care Companion is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Ahmedabad Area, focused on providing seniors with warm, reliable companionship and everyday support. Day-to-day responsibilities include visiting assigned seniors, engaging in meaningful conversation, participating in light activities, and encouraging social interaction to reduce isolation and loneliness.

Companion helps with basic daily routines and non-medical tasks such as reminders, organization, and support with staying active, while respecting each senior’s independence and dignity.



The role also involves observing changes in behavior or mood, sharing timely updates with families and supervisors, and following personalized care plans.

Companion works closely with the Sathiyaa team to maintain a safe, supportive setting and to build trusting, long-term relationships with seniors and their families.

Qualifications

- Strong interpersonal skills and communication abilities to build trust, engage in conversation, and provide emotional support to seniors.
- Customer service mindset, with patience, empathy, and a commitment to delivering respectful, person-centered care.
- Basic understanding of medicine or senior health needs; exposure to critical care medicine or healthcare settings is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Ability to observe and report changes in a senior’s routine, mood, or wellbeing clearly and responsibly.
- Prior experience in elder care, social work, counseling, or community service is highly beneficial.
- Fluency in local languages and English, with the ability to communicate clearly with seniors and families.
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working on-site across the Greater Ahmedabad Area; ability to travel locally as needed.
- Minimum educational qualification of a high school diploma; additional training in caregiving, psychology, or healthcare is a plus.
