Role Title: Software Engineering Manager (Weighing Automation & Integration)

PURPOSE: We are seeking a hands-on Software Engineering Manager to lead our compact but high-impact 2 member software development team. In this role, you will identify & bridge the gaps in software development & delivery process through technical execution and project management. You will oversee the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) starting from understanding requirement details for our standard & customized, core weighing application software, industrial automation solutions and data integration with 3rd party/ERP systems, ensuring robust development, rigorous testing, and seamless support to field personnel for troubleshooting.

This is a "Player-Coach" role where you will spend roughly 60% of your time on architecture, technical guidance, and hands-on development/troubleshooting, and 40% on project management and team mentorship.

Direct Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Leadership & Hands-on Development

- Lead the architecture, design, and development of weighing applications and IoT based automation using latest & secure software methodologies.
- Maintain and modernize legacy systems (VB/.NET) while driving migration toward up-to-date stacks (Python, Node.js, React and other emerging platforms).
- Ensure smooth integration between software systems and weighing electronics, industrial sensors & peripherals through serial/network protocols.

2. Project Management & SDLC Oversight

- Improve/develop and manage the end-to-end SDLC, establishing best practices for version control, code reviews for optimization & cyber security, and documentation.
- Explore, recommend and implement use of AI to improve team efficiency and delivery timelines.
- Act as the primary software project manager-defining project scopes, WBS, setting realistic development timelines, managing backlogs, monitoring & reporting progress and ensuring on-time delivery.
- Liaise with cross-functional teams (Sales, Hardware,



Production, Service) to translate client requirements into technical specifications, create requirement sign-off for scope control.

3. Testing, Troubleshooting & Support

- Establish QA methodologies, including automated (AI based) and manual testing frameworks for both software and hardware-in-the-loop.
- Serve as the tier-3 technical escalation point for critical troubleshooting of field issues or system bugs.

4. Team Management

- Mentor, guide, and manage a small, close-knit 2-person software development team to foster learning best practices, skill growth, time management & performance improvement.
- Championing the use AI in organization as well as software development & testing.

Backend & Desktop

Deep expertise in C# and .NET Core/.NET Framework. Working knowledge or experience maintaining legacy VB/VB.NET systems.

Modern & Web Tech

Strong proficiency in Python (for automation/data scripts) and Node.js (for backend APIs/microservices).

Frontend

Solid understanding of React for building modern user interfaces or dashboards.

Databases

Experience with SQL (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, SQLite) & Oracle for logging weight data and transaction history.

Industrial Protocols

Familiarity with Serial communication (RS232/485), Modbus, TCP/IP, OPC UA, MQTT to connect software with weigh indicators & peripherals.
