The Tax Processing Specialist – Associate prepares and files US sales and use tax returns for level 1–2 clients, with a focus on accuracy and timeliness. The role maintains client satisfaction through regular communication and supports senior team members on filings, payments and notices.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare an average of 600+ sales and use tax returns per month for level 1–2 clients.
Review client tax data for accuracy and raise discrepancies for resolution.
Build client relationships through regular, transparent communication.
Support senior Tax Processing Specialists with online filings and payments.
Support senior Tax Processing Specialists in handling and tracking notices from tax authorities.
Maintain accurate records and documentation for assigned clients.
Take part in structured mentoring and begin peer support activities.
Complete other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, commerce or business, or relevant experience in the same field.
2–5 years of related experience in tax compliance, preferably US sales and use tax.
Familiarity with standard tax compliance regulations for level 1–2 clients.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with Microsoft tools.
Solid attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy under deadlines.
Explicit written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with indirect tax returns software.
Tax-related certifications.
