About the Role

Develop and optimize battery state of estimation algorithms of SOP, SOC, SOH, SOE. Develop and optimize algorithm of early detection of battery failure to ensure compliance with safety requirements and government regulations. Design lab tests, HIL/MIL/SIL to calibrate and validate the algorithms. Continuously improve and keep innovating the algorithms. Cross-team collaborate with cell team, pack team, quality team, manufacturing team to define data collections and requirements. Support resolution of customer issues related to BMS. Review academic literature and attend conference to remain current with new battery control technology.

Responsibilities

Qualifications
BS in Engineering of Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science or equivalent
Minimum 3 years of experience with proven technical and qualified skills in battery management system (BMS) software development
Master or PHD

Required Skills
Mastery of MATLAB/Simulink and other software and control algorithm development tools
Experience in battery plant modelling such as ECM and P2D models
Self-starter and multi-task oriented in fast paced environment

Preferred Skills
Knowledge of BMS architecture and hardware/firmware
Positive understanding of automotive functional safety standards like ISO 26262
Experience in ML/AI optimization techniques
