Position: Sales Assistant (Showroom)

Key responsibilities

Customer service
Greet every customer warmly and ask about the occasion, budget, taste and the wearer before showing products.
Show a few suitable pieces at a time, let the customer try them on, and check ring, bangle or necklace fit.
Explain products in straightforward Hindi and English without confusing jargon.
Handle price questions by explaining value, and refer discount requests to the manager.
Follow up politely with customers who want to think, and keep a record of their interest.

Product knowledge
Explain gold purity (22K, 18K, 14K), BIS hallmark and HUID, and net and gross weight.
Explain diamonds using the 4Cs, certificates and total carat weight, and be honest about natural versus lab-grown stones.
Explain silver purity (925 and 999), care and tarnishing.
Know the current designs, collections, schemes and offers.

Billing and pricing
Explain the price breakup: metal value, stone value, making charges and GST.
Weigh pieces in front of the customer and match weights on the tag, certificate and bill.
Prepare accurate estimates and bills, and check purity,



weight and HUID details before handing over.
Explain exchange, buyback, warranty and return terms before the sale.

Showroom and stock
Keep counters, display cases and trays clean, neat and well lit.
Handle jewellery safely, count and record items at opening and closing, and report any shortage at once.
Never leave valuable items unattended with a customer.
Support stock-taking, display changes and festival or scheme promotions.

After-sales
Explain care, free cleaning and polishing, and resizing or repair services.
Take customer feedback and complaints politely, and pass them to the manager.
Keep customer details private.

Qualifications and experience
Higher secondary (12th) pass or graduate. A diploma in retail or gemology is an advantage.
[1 to 3] years of experience in jewellery or retail sales, preferably in gold and diamond jewellery.
Freshers with positive communication and a willingness to learn may be considered for training.

Pay: From ₹13,000.00 per month
