Job Title

AS/400 (iSeries) Software Engineer RPG Developer

We are looking for an experienced AS/400 (IBM iSeries) Software Engineer to design, develop, debug, and support applications on the IBM i platform. The candidate will work across the complete software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and production support.

Mandatory Skills
Rpgle, rpg/400, CLLE, and cl/400
Synon or CA2E - Any one is mandatory
Robust knowledge of ILE concepts
Proficiency in DB2 and SQL
Experience with AS/400 development tools:
SEU
SDA
RLU
PDM
Solid debugging and troubleshooting skills
Understanding of unit testing and test-case design
Valuable communication skills

Key Responsibilities
Develop and enhance applications on the AS/400 (IBM i) platform using RPGLE, RPG/400, CLLE, and CL/400.
Design and modify programs, display files, and report files based on changing business and database requirements.




Develop and maintain applications using Synon or CA2E.
Query and analyze DB2 data using SQL to investigate issues and identify solutions.
Perform debugging, root-cause analysis, and production issue resolution.
Participate in unit testing, integration testing, and defect resolution.
Provide application support and ensure adherence to client SLAs.
Collaborate with QA, business, and technical teams throughout the development lifecycle.
Prepare technical documentation and support production deployments.

Preferred Skills
Experience in manual/functional testing is an added advantage.
Exposure to production support and SLA-driven environments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work effectively with development, QA, and business teams.
