Plan, coordinate and monitor day-to-day machine shop activities as per production priorities, job requirements and delivery schedules.
Execute machining operations using conventional and CNC machines, such as turning, milling, drilling, boring, facing, grinding and other applicable processes.
Review engineering drawings, component specifications, machining allowances, tolerances and surface-finish requirements before execution.
Select suitable machining processes, cutting tools, fixtures, tool holders and machining parameters to achieve required accuracy and productivity.
Ensure correct job identification, material verification and traceability throughout machining operations.
Monitor machining quality through dimensional inspection using appropriate measuring instruments and gauges.
Coordinate with Design/Engineering, Production, Quality, Maintenance, Planning and Stores for drawings, material availability,



technical clarifications and job completion.
Monitor machine performance, tool consumption, cycle time, rejection, rework and downtime, and take corrective action to improve operational efficiency.
Ensure machine readiness, tooling availability, preventive maintenance coordination and timely resolution of machine-related issues.
Implement standard operating procedures, process controls, 5S, TPM, Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
Ensure adherence to safety requirements, machine guarding, secure material handling and prescribed operating procedures.
Maintain machining records, inspection reports, tool-life records, production data and job completion documentation.
