Mechanical Designer

Scope
Provide mechanical design support for custom industrial machinery including recent machine development customer orders and engineering changes.

- Manage end-to-end mechanical engineering projectsfor industrial machinery and automation equipment.
- Manage project scope schedule engineering hours cost resources risks and quality.
- Lead machine concept development and technical feasibility studies.
- Review and approval:
- 3D models and assemblies
- Manufacturing drawings
- GD&T; and tolerance stack-ups

Responsibilities

- Create/revise 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings
- Design assemblies weldments sheet metal and machined components
- Develop and maintain BOMs
- Support standardization and legacy design updates
- Implement engineering changes
- Partner with Engineering Manufacturing and Purchasing

Qualifications

- 5 years designing industrial capital equipment
- SolidWorks proficiency
- Manufacturing drawings and GD&T;
- BOM and PDM/PLM experience
- Self-directed in an ETO environment

Preferred Experience

- Plastics extrusion or converting equipment
- Web wire and cable conveyance handling
- Design for manufacturing and assembly
