JOB DESCRIPTION – PRINCIPAL (B.Sc. NURSING COLLEGE) Position: Principal – College of Nursing Department: Academic Administration Reports To: Management / Secretary / Correspondent Qualification: M.Sc. Nursing with applicable experience and eligibility as prescribed by the relevant regulatory authorities. 1. Job Summary The Principal is responsible for the overall administration, academic leadership, faculty management, clinical training, student development, and regulatory compliance of the Nursing College. The Principal ensures quality nursing education and maintains applicable standards prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council (INC), Karnataka State Nursing Council (KSNC), and the concerned university. 2. Key Responsibilities Academic Management - Prepare and implement the academic calendar and teaching plans. - Monitor classroom teaching, practical sessions, examinations, and student attendance. - Ensure effective clinical training and skill-lab activities. - Review academic performance and implement improvement measures. Faculty and Staff Management - Recruit, supervise, and evaluate teaching and non-teaching staff. - Prepare faculty workload and duty schedules. - Conduct staff meetings, training programmes, and performance reviews. - Maintain faculty qualifications, attendance, and service records. Clinical Training and Hospital Coordination - Coordinate clinical postings, internships, and practical training with affiliated hospitals. - Ensure proper supervision of students during clinical practice. - Maintain hospital MoUs, clinical rotation schedules, and student clinical records. - Promote patient safety, qualified ethics, and infection-control practices. Student Welfare - Monitor student attendance, discipline, academic progress, and welfare.



- Address student grievances and coordinate counselling when necessary. - Encourage research, seminars, workshops, and extracurricular activities. - Support career guidance, placement activities, and professional development. Regulatory Compliance and Documentation - Maintain records required for inspections, affiliation, recognition, and approvals. - Ensure compliance with applicable INC, KSNC, university, and government requirements. - Maintain admission records, faculty files, clinical logs, examination records, and institutional reports. - Coordinate inspections, audits, and submission of statutory reports. Administration and Reporting - Prepare budgets and resource requirements in coordination with management. - Monitor classrooms, laboratories, library facilities, equipment, and campus safety. - Submit monthly academic and administrative reports to management. - Implement institutional policies and quality-improvement initiatives. 3. Required Skills - Strong leadership and communication skills. - Academic planning and institutional administration. - Knowledge of nursing education regulations and clinical training. - Faculty management and conflict resolution. - Documentation, reporting, and computer proficiency. - Decision-making, teamwork, and ethical leadership. 4. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) - Student academic results and pass percentage. - Faculty attendance and teaching performance. - Quality and completion of clinical training. - Regulatory compliance and inspection readiness. - Student satisfaction and discipline. - Placement outcomes and institutional development. Note: Appointment eligibility, required teaching experience, and other conditions must be verified against the current regulations applicable to the specific nursing programme and institution.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹99,000.00 per month
