Core Conduct & Duties

- Vigilance & Alertness: Stay awake, watch surveillance feeds, and patrol assigned areas without distractions like phones, reading, or sleeping.
- Access Control: Verify visitor IDs, check incoming and outgoing materials, and log entry times.
- Emergency Response: Notify police, fire departments, or medical services immediately during a crisis, and record all events in an incident notebook.
- Confidentiality: Protect client data, security codes, and privacy records, never sharing them with unauthorized people.

Uniform & Identification

- Distinct Uniform: Wear a clean uniform with an agency arm badge, a shoulder or chest badge showing rank, and shoes with laces.
- Mandatory Gear: Keep a whistle attached to a cord in the left pocket, carry a notebook and pen, and wear a designated headgear.
- No Military Resemblance:



Never wear a uniform that looks like the Armed Forces, Police, Paramilitary, or Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).

Legal Limits & Authority

- No Police Powers: Guards are private citizens with limited authority; they cannot issue traffic tickets or conduct general criminal investigations.
- Right to Deny or Evict: Ask unauthorized people to leave private property, using only reasonable force if legally permitted.
- Detention Limits: Detain a suspect only under direct legal grounds (such as witnessing an indictable offense) and hand them over to the police right away.
