Job Summary

We are looking for a responsible and organized Store Manager to manage materials, tools, equipment, and inventory at a railway yard project site. The candidate will be responsible for material receiving, storage, issue, stock monitoring, documentation, and coordination with procurement and site execution teams to ensure the timely availability of materials.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day store operations at the railway yard project site.
- Receive construction materials, tools, equipment, and consumables from suppliers.
- Verify delivered materials against purchase orders, delivery challans, invoices, and material specifications.
- Maintain proper records of material receipts, issues, returns, and stock transfers.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the purchase department to arrange materials on time.
- Maintain stock registers, bin cards, material receipt notes (MRNs), and material issue notes.
- Manage inventory of cement, steel, aggregates, ballast, pipes, fittings, electrical materials, safety equipment, and other project materials, as applicable.
- Ensure materials are stored safely and systematically to prevent damage, deterioration, theft, or wastage.
- Issue materials to site engineers, supervisors, and authorized personnel against approved material requisitions.
- Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconcile discrepancies with inventory records.
- Track minimum stock levels and report shortages, excess stock, damaged materials, and slow-moving items.
- Maintain records of tools, machinery, equipment, and consumables issued to employees or contractors.
- Coordinate with site engineers, procurement, accounts,



suppliers, and project management teams.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports and material consumption statements.
- Support internal audits, inventory audits, and project material reconciliation.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, housekeeping standards, and site safety requirements.

Educational Qualification

- Any degree or diploma is preferred.
- Candidates with a background in Stores Management, Inventory Management, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management will have an advantage.

Required Experience

- 1–5 years of experience in storekeeping, inventory control, or material management.
- Experience in construction, infrastructure, civil engineering, railway, or industrial projects is preferred.
- Candidates with railway yard project material-handling experience will be given preference.

Technical Skills

- Knowledge of inventory management and stock control procedures.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office.
- Experience with ERP, Tally, or inventory management software is an advantage.
- Knowledge of purchase orders, delivery challans, invoices, and material receipt documentation.
- Understanding of construction materials and safe storage practices.
- Ability to maintain accurate stock registers and prepare inventory reports.
