1. Job Summary

The 6-Sided Drill / Multi boring Machine Operator is responsible for operating and setting up a CNC-based 6-sided drilling machine to perform accurate drilling operations on furniture panels. The operator must ensure that all drilling patterns, hole positions, depths, and panel dimensions match the approved production drawings and machine programs.

2. Key Responsibilities

Machine Operation

- Operate 6-sided CNC drilling and Multi boring machines for modular furniture production.
- Load and unload MDF, HDHMR, particle board, plywood, and other furniture panels.
- Execute drilling operations on all six sides of panels as required by the production program.
- Operate the machine according to approved CNC programs and production instructions.
- Select and verify the correct drill bits, tools, and drilling parameters.

Technical Drawing & Program Understanding

- Read and understand panel drawings, drilling patterns, and production labels.
- Verify hole positions for hinges, dowels, Mini fix, confirmat screws, shelf supports, and other fittings.
- Understand panel dimensions, edge references, drilling depths, and machining orientation.
- Check that machine programs match the approved drawings and panel specifications.

Quality Control

- Inspect the first panel after setup before proceeding with batch production.
- Verify hole diameter, depth, spacing, position, and accuracy.
- Check for incorrect drilling, chipped surfaces, edge damage, and panel scratches.
- Identify and report programming errors, tool wear, and machine malfunctions.
- Maintain consistent quality and minimize material wastage.

Production & Maintenance

- Complete assigned production targets within the planned schedule.
- Maintain proper panel identification and ensure correct part orientation.
- Perform routine machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.
- Check drill bits, tool holders, clamps, sensors,



and machine working conditions.
- Follow machine safety procedures and report breakdowns to the maintenance team.

Coordination & Documentation

- Coordinate with CNC programming, panel processing, edge banding, and assembly teams.
- Maintain production records, rejection details, and machine downtime reports.
- Follow job cards, production priorities, and factory quality standards.

3. Required Skills & Qualifications

- ITI, vocational training, or equivalent technical experience preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience operating CNC drilling or Multi boring machines preferred.
- Experience in modular furniture or panel furniture manufacturing is an advantage.
- Knowledge of furniture hardware and drilling patterns.
- Basic understanding of CNC programs, machine controls, and technical drawings.
- Ability to measure panels using a measuring tape, vernier calliper, or other inspection tools.
- Attention to detail, discipline, and commitment to production quality.

4. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Drilling accuracy and first-piece approval rate.
- Daily production target achievement.
- Panel rejection and rework percentage.
- Machine utilization and downtime.
- Tool usage and material wastage.
- Compliance with safety and housekeeping standards.

5. Safety Requirements

- Follow all machine operating and emergency-stop procedures.
- Never bypass machine guards, interlocks, or safety sensors.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Keep the machine and surrounding work area clean.
- Never adjust tools or clear jams while the machine is running; follow the prescribed isolation procedure before maintenance or clearing obstructions.

6. Preferred Candidate Profile

A technically skilled and quality-conscious operator who can independently operate a 6-sided CNC drilling machine, understand modular furniture drilling requirements, identify machining errors, and maintain production efficiency with minimal supervision.

Experience in Multi boring machine (KDT Drill Tech KD-612NHZ) will be highly preferred.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
