- Magnetization: A magnetic field is induced in the test object using a yoke, coil, or direct current.
- Particle Application: Fine magnetic iron particles (dry or wet suspended in liquid) are applied to the surface.
- Leakage & Indication: If a crack or defect disrupts the magnetic field, it creates a leakage field that pulls and clusters the magnetic particles, showing a visible outline of the flaw.
- Inspection: An inspector evaluates the particle clusters under normal or UV light.
- Demagnetization & Cleaning: The part is demagnetized and cleaned after testing
Inspecting Components & Vehicles: Perform visual and physical inspections of parts, Quality Inspection for tape measurement & Welding.
· Process Monitoring: Monitor production lines for inconsistencies, conducting in-process inspections to ensure quality compliance.
· Defect Identification & Reporting: Identify, document, and report defects, irregularities, or deviations in production.
Key Requirements
· Technical Knowledge: Understanding of automotive systems, engineering drawings, and manufacturing processes.
· Attention to Detail: High capability to spot minute defects and ensure strict adherence to safety standards.
· Technical Tools: Experience with precision measuring instruments.
· Communication Skills: Ability to report findings accurately and work with production teams.
· Education/Experience: High school diploma, often with vocational training or relevant automotive manufacturing experience.
