Position: Technical Sales & Service Manager – Steel Industry

Location: Jamshedpur, Jharkhand

Territory: Eastern India, with major focus on leading steel mills, particularly Tata Steel

We are looking for an experienced Technical Sales & Service Manager based in Jamshedpur to manage key steel-industry customers, drive business growth and provide high-quality technical application and after-sales service.

Key Responsibilities

· Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, particularly Tata Steel and other major steel mills.

· Provide technical sales, application support and after-sales service for GTZ chemical products.

· Understand customer processes and provide effective solutions to technical issues, complaints and application challenges.

· Develop new business opportunities and expand GTZ's presence across major steel mills in Eastern India.

· Identify opportunities for product development, process improvement and increased chemical consumption/business volumes.

· Prepare commercial proposals, support pricing decisions and contribute to business plans and profitability.

· Monitor market trends, competitor activities and customer requirements.

· Lead and coordinate site service teams, set KPIs and ensure high standards of customer service.

· Work closely with GTZ's Production, R&D;, Technical and senior management teams to develop customer-specific solutions.

· Drive customer satisfaction, sales growth, market share and overall business profitability.





Candidate Profile

· 10+ years of relevant experience in steel plant operations and/or technical sales & service in the steel/chemical/allied industries.

· Candidates with experience in Cold Rolling Mill (CRM) operations, particularly Tata Steel, will be strongly preferred.

· Strong knowledge of chemical applications in steel manufacturing will be an advantage.

· Proven experience in technical customer service, business development and handling complex technical complaints.

· Strong commercial orientation with the ability to convert technical solutions into business opportunities.

· Excellent customer relationship management, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to independently manage key accounts and lead customer-facing service teams.

· Willingness to travel extensively across Eastern India as required.

Qualification

B.Sc./M.Sc. in Chemical Sciences / Chemistry or B.E./B.Tech. in any relevant engineering discipline from a reputed institution.
