We are looking for an experienced Milling Machine Operator to operate and maintain milling machines used for machining metal components as per engineering drawings and production requirements. The candidate should have practical experience in machine operation, component machining, and dimensional inspection.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate conventional milling machines to manufacture components as per engineering drawings.
- Perform milling, slotting, drilling, facing, and other machining operations.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and work-holding devices.
- Set up the machine, align workpieces, and adjust cutting parameters.
- Inspect machined components using measuring instruments.
- Maintain dimensional accuracy and product quality.
- Follow production schedules and meet daily targets.
- Perform routine machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and maintain a clean working area.
- Coordinate with supervisors and quality teams to resolve machining issues.
Required Skills
- Hands-on experience operating milling machines.
- Knowledge of machining processes, cutting tools, and tool selection.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and understand tolerances.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
- Understanding of metalworking materials and machining parameters.
- Good attention to detail and quality standards.
Educational Qualification
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical qualification preferred.
Experience
- Relevant experience in milling machine operation preferred.
- Candidates with practical machining experience will be given preference.
