Azure VM & networking

Deploying and managing VMs; VNets, NSGs, UDRs, peering, Azure Firewall, Load Balancer, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute; troubleshooting with Network Watcher

Linux networking

ip/iproute2, routing tables, iptables/nftables, VLANs, bridges, GRE/VXLAN tunnels, tcpdump, basic scripting (Bash or Python)

Routing protocols

Strong BGP (eBGP/iBGP, attributes, route maps, communities, path selection); OSPF; EIGRP/IS-IS exposure; static and policy-based routing

IPsec / VPN

IKEv1/IKEv2, site-to-site and route-based VPNs, crypto parameters, NAT-T, troubleshooting tunnel negotiation

SD-WAN

Hands-on with at least one platform (e.g. Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN, Fortinet, VMware VeloCloud, Versa); overlay, policies, application-aware routing (SLA-based path selection, DPI app identification), failover

4G / 5G

Cellular WAN integration, APN configuration, signal metrics (RSRP, RSRQ, SINR), private APN and failover design; configuring and troubleshooting 4G/5G routers , dual-SIM failover

Wi-Fi

802.11ac/ax, RF planning, site surveys, controller-based and cloud-managed WLANs, 802.1X/RADIUS

Core networking

TCP/IP,



subnetting, VLANs, STP, NAT, DNS, DHCP, QoS, packet capture and analysis (Wireshark)

IDS/IPS & firewalls

IDS/IPS with Suricata or Snort (rule tuning, alert triage); next-gen firewall policy, NAT and UTM configuration (e.g. Fortinet, Palo Alto, pfSense/OPNsense)

OpenWrt

Configuring and hardening OpenWrt routers and firewalls: UCI, firewall zones (fw4/nftables), mwan3 multi-WAN, IPsec/WireGuard VPN, firmware upgrades and packages

Communication and customer skills

- - Excellent spoken and written English; able to explain complex network issues to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
- Confident leading customer calls, workshops and bridge calls during outages.
- Strong customer handling: sets clear expectations, manages escalations calmly and follows through to closure.
- Writes clean, structured emails, status updates, designs and RCA reports.
- Ownership mindset, positive time management and the ability to juggle multiple customers and priorities.
