Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Purchase Engineer to manage procurement activities, vendor coordination, and material sourcing for engineering and manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate should have experience in purchasing engineering materials, negotiating with suppliers, controlling procurement costs, and ensuring timely material availability for production requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities

- Material Procurement: Procure raw materials, mechanical components, engineering parts, tools, and consumables as per production requirements.
- Engineering Drawing Review: Study engineering drawings, material specifications, and bills of materials (BOMs) to understand purchasing requirements.
- Raw Material Estimation: Coordinate with the engineering and production teams to estimate material requirements and verify specifications.
- Vendor Development: Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers for engineering materials and components.
- Quotation Analysis: Obtain quotations from vendors and prepare comparative statements based on price, quality, delivery time, and payment terms.
- Price Negotiation: Negotiate with suppliers to achieve competitive pricing, favourable payment terms, and cost savings.
- Purchase Order Management:



Prepare and release purchase orders after obtaining the required approvals and ensure accurate commercial and technical details.
- Order Follow-up: Track purchase orders and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Quality Coordination: Work with the Quality and Engineering teams to resolve material-quality issues, discrepancies, and supplier rejections.
- Cross-functional Coordination: Coordinate with Production, Planning, Stores, Quality, and Finance teams to ensure uninterrupted material availability.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain purchase orders, supplier records, quotation comparisons, delivery schedules, and procurement reports.
- Cost and Inventory Control: Support cost-reduction initiatives and coordinate with the Stores team to avoid material shortages and excess inventory.

Required Skills

- Knowledge of mechanical engineering materials and components.
- Ability to understand engineering drawings and material specifications.
- Experience in vendor management and supplier negotiations.
- Knowledge of purchase orders, quotation comparisons, and procurement procedures.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and purchase documentation.
- ERP/SAP knowledge is an advantage.
- Valuable communication, coordination, and analytical skills.

Candidate Eligibility

- Qualification: B.Tech (Mechanical) or MBA only.
- Experience: 2–4 years of relevant experience.
- Candidates with relevant purchasing experience in engineering, manufacturing, or industrial equipment companies are preferred.
- Candidates must be able to coordinate effectively with vendors and internal departments.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
