Job description:

About the Role

We're looking for an Embedded Systems Engineer to develop firmware for our hardware products, including Linux-based platforms and camera-integrated systems. You'll work close to the metal, from bring-up and driver work to performance tuning of imaging pipelines, and own firmware features end to end.

Key Responsibilities

- Firmware development for embedded systems. Design, write, and maintain reliable firmware for resource-constrained devices, with clean architecture and thorough testing.
- Bare-metal and RTOS systems. Build and debug bare-metal applications and RTOS-based firmware (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or similar), including task scheduling, ISRs, and inter-task communication.
- Linux-based firmware and OS-level work. Develop on embedded Linux platforms (Yocto, Buildroot), customize kernels, write or port device drivers, and tune the boot and runtime stack.
- Camera systems (CSI, ISP, pipelines). Bring up and tune image sensors over MIPI CSI, integrate with ISPs, and optimize end-to-end capture, processing, and encoding pipelines.
- Hardware interfacing (UART, SPI, I2C, GPIO). Implement and debug low-level peripheral communication, working closely with hardware engineers from schematic review through board bring-up.
- Debug and optimize performance. Profile CPU, memory, and I/O usage. Use logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, JTAG, and tracing tools to track down bugs and squeeze out latency, throughput, and power gains.

Required Skills

- C / C++ embedded programming. Strong command of C and up-to-date C++ for embedded targets, including memory management, concurrency, and tight footprint constraints.
- Linux firmware and kernel concepts.

Familiarity with the Linux boot flow, kernel modules, device tree, sysfs / procfs, and V4L2 or similar media frameworks.
- Camera systems and pipelines. Hands-on experience with image sensors, MIPI CSI, ISPs, and tuning capture or video pipelines for quality, latency, and bandwidth.
- RTOS and device drivers. Practical experience with at least one RTOS and with writing or porting drivers for sensors, comms peripherals, or storage.
- Debugging tools. Comfortable with GDB, JTAG / SWD probes, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and tracing tools (ftrace, perf, SystemView, or similar).

Nice to Have

- Experience with SoC families such as NXP i.MX, Rockchip, Allwinner, Ambarella, Qualcomm, or NVIDIA Jetson.
- Familiarity with video codecs (H.264, H.265) and streaming protocols (RTSP, WebRTC).
- Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or cellular connectivity stacks on embedded targets.
- OTA update systems, secure boot, and firmware signing.
- Power management and low-power design for battery-operated devices.

What You'll Bring

- A track record of shipping firmware on real hardware that meets performance, power, and reliability targets.
- Strong debugging instincts. You isolate root causes methodically rather than guessing.
- Comfort reading schematics and datasheets, and a good working relationship with hardware teams.
- Clear written and verbal communication, especially around tradeoffs between firmware, hardware, and product needs.
- Ownership mindset. You drive ambiguous problems through to a shipped solution.

Benefits:

- Work from home

Work Location: Remote

Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per month

Work Location: Remote
