Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and commercially skilled Commercial Engineer with experience in the Oil & Gas, Pipeline EPC, and Shipbuilding industries. The candidate will be responsible for managing commercial documentation, contracts, purchase orders, vendor and subcontractor coordination, tendering, billing, cost monitoring, and client correspondence to ensure smooth commercial operations across projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Contract Management: Review and administer contracts, work orders, purchase orders, and subcontract agreements in accordance with project requirements.
- Tendering & Estimation: Prepare commercial proposals, quotations, tender documents, BOQs, and cost estimates for oil and gas pipeline and shipbuilding projects.
- Purchase Order Management: Prepare, review, and track purchase orders, service orders, and work orders while coordinating with procurement and project teams.
- Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination: Liaise with vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers regarding quotations, commercial terms, payments, and deliverables.
- Client Coordination: Handle commercial correspondence, contractual clarifications, claims, variations, and other project-related commercial matters.
- Billing & Payment Follow-up: Coordinate client billing, subcontractor bills, invoice verification, payment certification, and outstanding payment follow-ups.
- Cost Monitoring: Track project costs, commitments, variations, and budget deviations in coordination with the project and finance teams.
- Variation & Claims Management:



Identify additional work, scope changes, and contractual deviations; prepare supporting documentation for variation claims and extra-work billing.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain commercial records, contract registers, tender files, vendor documentation, and project-related commercial reports.
- Coordination with Internal Teams: Work closely with project managers, planning, procurement, finance, and operations teams to ensure contractual and commercial requirements are met.
- MIS & Reporting: Prepare periodic commercial reports covering project costs, billing status, purchase orders, outstanding payments, and contract performance.

Required Qualifications

- B.Tech/B.E. or Diploma in Mechanical, Civil, or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience in commercial operations within the Oil & Gas, Pipeline EPC, Shipbuilding, Ship Repair, or Marine Engineering industries.
- Good understanding of contracts, tendering, BOQs, purchase orders, billing, and subcontract administration.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, commercial documentation, and reporting.
- Solid negotiation, coordination, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Experience

- Experience dealing with oil and gas companies, pipeline contractors, shipyards, EPC contractors, or industrial project clients.
- Knowledge of contract terms, variation orders, claims, cost control, and project billing procedures.
- Experience coordinating with procurement, finance, vendors, and project execution teams.
