About Us
We are a growing engineering startup focused on developing reliable, high-performance electronic products for industrial applications. As we move from basic prototypes to commercially viable products, we are looking for an experienced Hardware Design Engineer to strengthen our R&D; team and lead the development of robust power electronics solutions.
The ideal candidate will have strong fundamentals in power electronics, hands-on experience designing and debugging high-voltage circuits, and the ability to transform initial circuit concepts into safe, reliable, manufacturable, and market-ready products.
This role requires practical engineering expertise, independent problem-solving, and ownership of the complete hardware development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
1. Power Electronics Design & Development
- Design, review, optimize, and validate power electronic circuits for Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Switch Mode Power Supplies (SMPS), and related industrial electronic products.
- Evaluate existing prototype designs, identify potential failure points, and improve circuit reliability, efficiency, and performance under real operating conditions.
- Design and optimize power converter topologies, including Buck, Boost, Flyback, and other application-specific converter architectures.
- Develop and validate gate driver circuits for MOSFETs and IGBTs.
- Design or specify custom transformers, inductors, and other magnetic components based on electrical, thermal, and mechanical requirements.
- Select suitable power semiconductors, capacitors, magnetics, protection components, and control circuitry.
2. Circuit Simulation, Testing & Validation
- Perform circuit simulations using LTspice, PSpice, or equivalent tools before hardware implementation.
- Conduct prototype bring-up, high-voltage testing, load testing, and performance validation.
- Identify and troubleshoot circuit failures, switching losses, voltage spikes, ringing, thermal issues, and component stress.
- Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve hardware robustness.
- Validate designs across operating conditions, including input voltage variations, load transients, and continuous operation.
3. EMI/EMC & Thermal Management
- Identify and resolve electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) issues in power electronics designs.
- Design appropriate EMI filters, grounding schemes, shielding, and PCB layouts to reduce conducted and radiated emissions.
- Optimize switching loops, current return paths, creepage and clearance, and power-stage layout.
- Analyze thermal performance, switching losses, and heat dissipation require
