JOB DESCRIPTION – CNC ROUTER OPERATOR

Job Title: CNC Router Operator
Department: Production
Reporting To: Production Supervisor / Production Manager
Experience: 1–3 years preferred
Qualification: ITI / Diploma / 10th or 12th pass with relevant experience
Employment Type: Full-time

1. Job Summary

The CNC Router Operator is responsible for operating CNC router machines to cut, engrave, drill, and shape materials according to engineering drawings, approved designs, and production requirements. The operator must ensure dimensional accuracy, product quality, machine safety, and timely completion of production targets.

2. Key Responsibilities

- Operate CNC router machines for cutting, engraving, drilling, and profiling operations.
- Read and understand technical drawings, dimensions, layouts, and cutting designs.
- Load materials such as MDF, plywood, acrylic, PVC, ACP, wood, foam, or other specified materials.
- Set up workpieces, cutting tools, machine zero points, and tool offsets.
- Load and execute CNC programs and verify toolpaths before machining.
- Understand basic G-code and CAD/CAM software, where required.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, spindle speeds, feed rates, and cutting depths.
- Monitor machine operation and ensure accurate cutting and finishing.
- Inspect finished components using suitable measuring instruments.
- Identify and report tool wear, machining defects, and machine abnormalities.
- Perform routine cleaning, lubrication,



and preventive maintenance as instructed.
- Maintain production records, material usage, and rejection reports.
- Follow safety procedures, dust-control practices, and 5S standards.
- Achieve daily production targets while minimizing material wastage.

3. Required Skills

- Practical experience operating CNC router machines.
- Knowledge of cutting, engraving, drilling, and routing processes.
- Basic understanding of CAD/CAM software and CNC programming.
- Ability to read drawings and interpret dimensions.
- Knowledge of cutting tools, tool changes, and machine setup.
- Positive attention to detail and quality inspection.
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to follow production instructions and safety guidelines.

4. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Daily production target achievement.
- Cutting accuracy and product quality.
- Material wastage and rejection rate.
- Machine utilization and downtime.
- Tool life and consumption.
- Compliance with safety and housekeeping standards.

5. Working Conditions

- Work in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Operate machinery according to assigned shifts.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workplace.

Salary: As per company policy and candidate experience.
Job Location: As per company requirement.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹34,000.00 per month
